Was really impressed with these set of trails. Lots to run for sure. Took the Western Ridge Trail, connected with the Ridge Run Trail, Eastern Ridge Trail, then back to the Western Ridge Trail to Spier Falls Road, then made my way back to my car at parking lot above Mud Pond. Plenty of elevation change, very runable almost entire trip. Few spots of walking up hill, not bad though. The Western Ridge Trail seems to be a bit goofy to follow at time, especially around the Scenic Overlook, very vague, this way and that kind thing going on. Passed a few mountain bikers on the trail.
Can do a lot of mixing up and around with this trail system. Great views along the way. Certainly a favorite area to run, especially since it is so close. On the Ipod mix for this run: Some Dylan (modern times), Townes Van Zandt, Wilco, Brett Dennen, and Kaiser Chiefs Thanks Paul for the reminder re: these trails. Glad you enjoyed MSP...I think it is overlooked as a great place to run.
I go there often.

Make sure you check yourself for ticks. I've been covered a couple times in there.

They only bother people who sweat. Oh ya, I don't sweat.

Neither of my dogs sweat either?
